KATHMANDU: Bagmati ‘Regional Fine Art Exhibition 2080’ has started at Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, Naxal.
The inauguration of the exhibition was conducted by Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Hit Bahadur Tamang, on Monday.
Minister Tamang, along with Hit Bahadur Tamang, the caretaker of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, highlighted the significance of this exhibition in recognizing artists from the Bagmati State and promoting their work, emphasizing its crucial role in conservation and development.
The event also honored leading artists who have made significant contributions to the field of Nepali art, including Baburaj Dyahla, Gautamratna Tuladhar, Chanda Shrestha, Mira Bhattarai, Saila Lama ‘Mangal,’ Purna Prasad Hoju, and Pushpanjali Shrestha.
Featuring a diverse range of artistic expressions, the exhibition showcases over 241 artworks by more than 210 artists under various categories such as contemporary painting, traditional painting, folk art, sculpture, architecture, and other multidimensional art forms.
The exhibition is set to run until March 29.
