Police nabs 5 Bangladeshi Nationals for illegal stay after visa expiry
They were detained from Sohrakhutte on grounds of violating immigration laws and their involvement in questionable activities.
KATHMANDU: Nepali authorities apprehended five Bangladeshi citizens residing unlawfully in Kathmandu’s Sohrakhutte area after the expiration of their visas
The arrested individuals are identified as MD Rifat Ahmad (26 years old), MD Abdullah (23 years old), MD Samuel Hoda (45 years old), Abdul Biswas (30 years old), and Masum Mia (36 years old), according to information provided by Nakul Pokharel, a spokesperson for the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Crime Division.
Following the conclusion of their visa periods, these Bangladeshi nationals entered Nepal at different times and engaged in illegal residency along with suspicious activities, as per the official statement.
They were detained from Sohrakhutte on grounds of violating immigration laws and their involvement in questionable activities.
Among those apprehended, Biswas and Mia were captured on March 22, while the remaining three were arrested on Monday.
Pokharel further informed that the detainees have been sent to the Department of Immigration for necessary investigation and legal proceedings.
