KATHMANDU: Tomorrow, on Monday, during the full moon of the month of Phagun in the bright fortnight, the first lunar eclipse of the year 2024 will commence.

This lunar eclipse will begin at 10:38 AM and will last until 3:17 PM.

Santakumar Sharma, Executive Director of the B.P. Koirala Memorial Planetarium, Observatory, and Science Museum, stated that this eclipse will not be visible from Nepal.

“This eclipse can only be observed from countries in North and East Asia, Europe, America, Canada, and similar regions,” he explained.

According to Jyotish Pandit Surya Prasad Dhungel, Executive Director of the Nepal Panchang Determination Committee, the reason behind the inability to witness this lunar eclipse from Nepal is that it falls during the inauspicious period (sutak), which does not affect individuals of any zodiac sign residing in Nepal.
