Comedy Champion organizer Bishal Bhandari released from police custody after car accident in Bhaktapur

KATHMANDU: Bishal Bhandari, the organizer of the Comedy Champion show, has been released from police custody after being detained in connection with a car accident.
The incident occurred on Friday morning at around 3 o’clock on Jagati, Bhaktapur, where Bhandari and other two were apprehended by the police following the accident.
After the condition of comedian Sushant Basnyat, who was injured in the accident, began to improve, Bhandari bore the entire cost of his treatment and presented the necessary documents to the police for his release.
Along with Bhandari, there were a total of five people, including a woman, in the car. They were traveling in the opposite direction in Bhaktapur when the accident occurred due to a collision with a tipper.
Following the accident, both Director Bhandari and the supervising officer, Pujan, who were under police control, have now been released from police custody.
Information about Basnyat’s condition and ongoing treatment has been provided to the District Police Office, Bhaktapur, by SP Prajit KC.
Basnyat is currently undergoing treatment at Madhyapur Thimi Hospital in Bhaktapur, as confirmed by KC
During the police investigation, Director Bhandari revealed that he was the one driving the car at the time of the accident.
He stated that the accident occurred due to the tipper coming in the opposite direction while he was driving.
