Govt decides to nationalize Bansbari Leather Shoe Company’s land

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation disclosed during a press conference on Friday that the land belonging to the Bansbari Leather Shoe Company has been slated for nationalization.

Speaking at the press conference, Land Revenue Office official Chabilal Nepali revealed that the decision to acquire the land under the name of the government was taken in accordance with the provisions of the Land Revenue Office Act, 2034.

He stated that the area, approximately 10 ropanis, registered under the Bansbari Leather Shoe Company, has been taken over in collaboration with the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) for further investigation.

Nepali mentioned that the Ministry of Land Management and the Land Revenue Office applied the procedures outlined in the Land Revenue Office Act, 2034, to officially transfer the land under government ownership.

Minister Balaram Adhikari emphasized the government’s campaign to reclaim unlawfully occupied government land.

Adhikari highlighted the significance of the campaign, aiming to rectify personal encroachments on state property through various means and ensure its efficient utilization.

He noted that the Ministry has undertaken comprehensive efforts to ensure that all necessary documentation and processes are adhered to, as per the Land Revenue Office Act, 2034.

The Minister emphasized that the new administration, alongside assuming responsibility for the Ministry of Land, is in agreement with the Cooperative Movement.

He underscored the ongoing campaign to reclaim illegally seized government land, reiterating the government’s commitment to effective governance and resource management.
