New cave found in Bandipur
Chairperson of Bandipur Rural Municipality, Surendra Bahadur Thapa, said the cave was found in course of the exploration of possible areas for rock climbing in Bandipur on Thursday.
KATHMANDU: A new cave has been found in Bandipur. The Sarpani cave with a length of around 20-meter was discovered near Pauwa of Bandipur Rural Municpality-2.
Chairperson of Bandipur Rural Municipality, Surendra Bahadur Thapa, said the cave was found in course of the exploration of possible areas for rock climbing in Bandipur on Thursday.
A team comprising adventurous tourism entrepreneur Chandra Ale, paragliding pilot Samannoya Pradhan and entrepreneur Sukram Tamang, among others was exploring possible places for the rock climbing.
Chair Thapa mentioned that the new cave would help add new dimension in tourism sector of Bandipur.
The new cave lies around one kilometer from Bandipur bazaar, he added.
Tourists visiting Bandipur can enjoy the cave and rock climbing.
There is immense potential of rock climbing as the cliff outside the cave is around 300-meter wide and 50-meter tall, shared the Chairperson.
There is a space inside the cave with the capacity of around 40-50 people.
