2 dies in separate road accidents in Morang
Authorities have launched necessary investigations into both incidents to ascertain the causes and ensure appropriate actions are taken.
KATHMANDU: Accident in Morang as two separate road accidents resulted in fatalities. In the first incident, a 56-year-old cyclist, identified as Huwala Majhi from Gramathan Rural Municipality-5, lost his life after being hit by a pickup truck with registration number Ko 2 Cha 217 at Masan Chowk on Thursday morning.
He succumbed to severe injuries while undergoing treatment at Biratnagar Neuro Hospital.
The driver of the pickup truck has been taken into police custody for investigation.
Similarly, in another accident on Tuesday, a pedestrian, identified as 65-year-old Khadga Bahadur Shrestha from Jhapa Kanakai Rural Municipality-5, lost his life after being struck by a bus (Ko 1 Kha 6295) at New Mangalbare Road in Urlabari Municipality-3.
He suffered critical injuries and was rushed to B&C Hospital in Birtamode, where he passed away on Wednesday afternoon.
The bus driver has been detained by the police for further inquiry.
