Man stabbed in Jhapa, accused arrested

KATHMANDU: An approximately 35-year-old, Sanam Rai, was fatally stabbed today (Thursday) morning around 5 a.m. in Gaurishankar, in Bhadrapur Municipality-2 of Jhapa.

According to the Jhapa District Police Office, the accused Lok Bahadur Rai, aged approximately 25, has been identified and arrested in connection with Sanam’s murder.

Lok Bahadur slept at Sanam’s house last night.

Preliminary investigation by the police revealed that Lok Bahadur killed Sanam by striking him on the head while he was sleeping.

Lok Bahadur has been taken into custody by the police for further investigation at the crime scene.

The police have initiated necessary procedures to send the body for autopsy examination to the hospital.
