Govt appoints four members to the Planning Commission

With the formation of the new power equation, the previous members resigned and the member position in the commission was vacant.

KATHMANDU: Four people have been appointed as vacant members of the National Planning Commission.

During the Cabinet meeting on Thursday, the government appointed Professor Sangita Singh, Dr. Kushendra Bahadur Mahat, Professor Shivaraj Adhikari, and Dr. Arniko Kumar Pandey to the vacant positions of the National Planning Commission.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Government Spokesperson Rekha Sharma informed about the decision, stating that the government has decided to promote Secretary Chudamani Paudel to the vacant position of Secretary in the specific category of the Nepal Administrative Service Group through the Gazette.

She mentioned, “To mark the completion of 50 years of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Korea, the government has decided to confer the ‘Salami Medal’ to 10 mountaineers, including seven Koreans and three Nepalis, who will embark on an expedition to Himal Himalaya located in Sindhupalchowk district.”

With the formation of a new power equation, along with the resignation of the previous members, the commission had vacant member positions.
