KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a statement regarding the current weather conditions in Nepal, indicating the presence of a western low-pressure system and its partial impact on local winds.
According to the department, light rainfall is expected in the hilly regions of the country, including the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki States.
The weather in other parts remains generally clear.
However, some areas in the Sudurpaschim and Karnali States may experience scattered light rainfall, along with possibilities of slight snowfall in certain locations of the high-altitude and Himalayan regions.
Throughout the day, there may be intermittent changes in weather patterns across the country.
Parts of the Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati States, as well as some areas in the hilly regions, could witness occasional thunderstorms accompanied by light rainfall. Similarly, there’s a chance of light snowfall in select high-altitude areas of the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki States.
During the night, partial to occasional changes are expected in the weather conditions of the hilly regions, particularly in the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki States, where sporadic thunderstorms with light rainfall are forecasted.
Considering the potential impacts of these weather fluctuations on daily life, including agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road, and air transportation, the department advises the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
