Accused in friend’s murder held 21 years after fleeing

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office conducted a press briefing on Tuesday, revealing the arrest of Tej Bahadur Rai, also known as Tikhe.

Rai had been evading for 21 years after allegedly killing his friend, Sanjay Shahi.

DSP Security KC from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office disclosed that Rai, aged 41 and hailing from Solukhumbu Necha Salyan Rural Municipality 4, was apprehended.

The incident occurred during a dispute, resulting in Shahi’s death at an slaughterhouse in Inatol, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, within the Marudho area of Kathmandu District two decades ago.
