18-year-old boy went missing since four days found hanged
Police reported that Khanal was found hanging, and he was a student in Birendranagar, Surkhet.
KATHMANDU: The lifeless body of Manoj Khanal, an 18-year-old from Batulasen, Ramaroshan Rural Municipality-4, Achham, was discovered near Shahid Park’s gate in Birendranagar Municipality-4, Surkhet, four days after he went missing.
Police reported that Khanal was found hanging, and he was a student in Birendranagar, Surkhet.
He left his residence last Wednesday at around 3 pm, purportedly heading to the market.
Subsequently, he was found deceased, with no communication with his family.
Authorities recovered a purported ‘suicide note,’ indicating suicide as the cause.
An investigation is currently underway to confirm if Khanal indeed wrote the note.
The note, expressing apologies, highlighted the dire circumstances of his family and his struggle with mental illness.
Addressing Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, the note urged comfort for his family and fulfillment of his brother’s wishes.
