Mahara brought to CIB office
CIB spokesperson Hovindra Bogti informed that a case against Mahara will be raised in CIB and submitted to the public prosecutor's office today.

KATHMANDU: Krishna Bahadur Mahara, vice chair of the Maoist Centre, has been brought to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB).
Mahara, who was arrested from Rupandehi for the investigation of the gold smuggling case, was brought to the CIB office in Lajimpat.
CIB spokesperson Hovindra Bogti informed that a case against Mahara will be raised in CIB and submitted to the public prosecutor’s office today.
According to him, the case against Mahara will be taken to the public prosecutor’s office to extend the prison term.
Mahara, who had reached in Rupandehi via Bhairahawa Airport en route to Rolpa from Kathmandu, was apprehended by the police in the morning from the residence of Maoist leader lawyer Muslim in Dhakdhai. “Mahara sir was about to have dinner when he was taken into custody,” a police source said.

Meanwhile, Mahara’s son Rahul remains incarcerated in connection with the same case. The Central Investigation Bureau of the police has probed Rahul for his alleged involvement in ‘organized smuggling’.
