Driver dies in tractor accident
The victim, identified as 19-year-old Pujeri Majhi, lost his life when the tractor, bearing registration number State 2-02-001 Ta 0435, overturned.
KATHMANDU: The driver died in a tractor accident in Sarlahi’s Basabaria Rural Municipality-3.
The victim, identified as 19-year-old Pujeri Majhi, lost his life when the tractor, bearing registration number State 2-02-001 Ta 0435, overturned.
According to Dipendra Panjiyar Tharu, the Police Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office Sarlahi, the incident occurred on Sunday evening when the tractor flipped into the canal at Kothihar, Basabaria Rural Municipality-3.
The tractor was returning from fieldwork at the time of the accident.
Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, the owner of the tractor and a resident of Basbariya Rural Municipality-3, was also present in the vehicle during the incident. Fortunately, he escaped unharmed.
However, the tractor owner, Dhani Yadav, has fled the scene following the accident.
Authorities have taken control of the tractor, which is now under the jurisdiction of the Barathawa area police office.
The deceased driver’s body has been transferred to the State Hospital Malangawa, Sarlahi, for further examination.
