Bus heading towards Pokhara collides with truck: 1 dead, 4 injured (including names)
The collision claimed the life of 37-year-old Gauri Das, a passenger aboard the ill-fated bus.
KATHMANDU: One person died when a bus collided with a truck in Ichchakamanma on the Narayangadh-Muglin road in Chitwan.
The incident occurred late Saturday night when a bus en route to Motihari, Champaran District, India, collided with a parked truck near Jalbire of Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-6.
The collision claimed the life of 37-year-old Gauri Das, a passenger aboard the ill-fated bus.
According to DSP Shreeram Bhandari, spokesperson for the Chitwan District Police Office, the collision left four other passengers critically injured.
The collision occurred between bus number Ga 1 Kha 8524 traveling from Gaur, Rautahat towards Pokhara with a truck number Na 6 Kha 3280.
They have been identified as Hakim Mia (33) from Parsa, Birgunj, Puja Gupta (25) from Milan Chowk, Barhathawa Municipality, Sarlahi, Amber Nath Kumar (32) from Ramanagar, Sitamadhi District, India, and Rita Gupta (39) from Majapur, Bihar, India.
The injured individuals are currently undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Medical College, Bharatpur.\
Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the accident, and both vehicles involved have been seized for further examination.
