KATHMANDU: The body of a teenage girl has been discovered in the Pashupati forest area of Kathmandu.
Identified as 19-year-old Sushmita Thapa, she was found hanging from a tree near the Gorakhnath temple.
According to DSP Keshav Theve of Gaushala Police Circle, the body was spotted in the morning by individuals out for a walk, who promptly alerted the authorities.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the young girl may have committed suicide, although further inquiry into the matter is underway.
Reports indicate that Thapa, originally from Sindhuli, had been residing in Baluwakhani, Kapan, and had left home to visit relatives in Bhaktapur.
Her absence had raised concerns among family members, prompting them to appeal on social media for assistance in locating her whereabouts.
