Jhapa murder case: grandson commits murder under influence of cannabis
In connection with the incident, two individuals, Dhiraj Bishwakarma, 18, the deceased's grandson, and Raju Mallik, 18, a local resident, were arrested on Wednesday.
KATHMANDU: The local police in Gaurigunj, Jhapa, have apprehended two individuals suspected of murdering an 82-year-old woman, Naramaya Bishwakarma.
The search for the elderly woman, who had been missing from her home since Falgun 26 (March 9), led to the discovery of her body behind her own house in Guwali, with severe head injuries, on Falgun 30 (March 13) (Wednesday).
In connection with the incident, two individuals, Dhiraj Bishwakarma, 18, the deceased’s grandson, and Raju Mallik, 18, a local resident, were arrested on Wednesday.
Preliminary investigations reveal that Dhiraj, under the influence of cannabis, assaulted his mother with a spade behind their house when she went to use the toilet around 2 AM.
The initial findings suggest that the incident resulted in the woman’s death at the scene.
Further investigations into the case, with the cooperation of Mallik, who resides near the victim’s house in Guwali, are underway, according to the police.
The police have stated that additional investigations into the matter are ongoing.
