Prachanda secures vote of confidence for the third time
There were 110 votes against him, while one person remained neutral.

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, the Chair of CPN (Maoist Centre) has received the vote of confidence for the third time.
Prachanda received the vote of confidence from 157 MPs of the House of Representatives (HoR) from the Parliament meeting held today on Tuesday.
Following Rule 155 of the House of Representatives Regulations, 2079 BS, and Article 100, Sub-Article (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, PM Dahal presented a proposal during the House of Representatives session seeking a vote of confidence.
During the session, PM Dahal introduced the proposal, urging the House to express its confidence in his leadership as Prime Minister.
In response, he received 157 votes in favor, with support from parties such as CPN-UML, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), CPN (Unified Socialist), and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), among others.
Securing 157 votes, PM Dahal attained a majority, ensuring the success of the vote of confidence.
Moreover, 110 lawmakers chose not to support PM Dahal, while one lawmaker opted to remain neutral.
With the change in the ruling coalition on March 4, after the Nepali Congress withdrew its support to the Prime Minister, the Prime Minister took the vote of confidence again today.
Dahal, was elected as the Prime Minister on 2079 Poush 10 (25 December, 2022).
He took the vote of confidence for the first time on 2079 Poush 26 (10 January, 2023).
