KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress MP Kiran Babu Shrestha has said that the current state system is not a system made only to bring someone to power.

MP Shrestha said this while supporting the proposal presented by Congress MP Ananda Prasad Dhungana in the National Assembly meeting on Tuesday that Yuvaraj Sharma should be elected as the Chair of the National Assembly.

He said that the current constitution and system were not brought to make any one person occupy the position.

He said that the system was brought to make social and economic changes in the country and to maintain the good governance of the country.

Unified Samajwadi Party MP Shekhar Kumar Singh, supporting the proposal presented by MP Dhungana that Yuvaraj Sharma should be elected as the Chair of the National Assembly, said that there should be stability in the country.

He stated that, based on the notion that parliament belongs to the opposition, Sharma, the opposition’s nominee, should be elected Chair of the National Assembly. He stated that there is no stability when an alliance changes, and that the alliance should be stabilized.

He said that the alliance’s indicators in the country are poor, which would lead to a difficult scenario in the future.
