Birat Cancer Institute & Yeti Airlines sign agreement to provide free airline tickets for cancer patients
Yeti Airlines has provided this facility with the aim of supporting cancer patients under its social responsibility.
KATHMANDU: Yeti Airlines is set to provide free air tickets to cancer patients coming for treatment at Birat Medical College Teaching Hospital (Birat Cancer Institute).

Yuvraj Bista, Chief Business Officer of Yeti Airlines, provided information about this.
Bista said, “We believe that this facility will provide additional inspiration to every patient fighting cancer. Not only before, but cancer patients from all over Nepal will be able to avail themselves of the free air tickets.” He added, “This plan has been implemented in collaboration with the Birat Cancer Institute.”
To obtain free tickets, patients need to contact Birat Cancer Institute with necessary documents. Dr. Nikita Karki, Vice-Chairperson of Birat Cancer Institute, informed that cancer patients will be provided with a certificate/identification based on the documents provided by the hospital specialists, and arrangements will be made to book tickets before coming for treatment.
Karki said, ‘Patients can directly contact the hospital number 9852044266 for ticket booking when they have a doctor’s appointment.’
Similarly, the airline has reminded passengers that they must present an ID card confirmed by the hospital as a cancer patient at the Yeti Airlines counter while checking in at the airport.
Yeti Airlines and Birat Cancer Institute announced an arrangement on the Falgun 17 (Feb 29) to give complimentary flying tickets to cancer patients throughout Nepal.
Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, various services are being conducted at the Birat Cancer Institute, including radiation therapy, medical oncology, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, hormonal therapy, surgical oncology (for women, men, and children), radio-diagnosis, interventional radiology, stereotactic mammography, and preventive oncology services.
Similarly, preventive oncology, palliative care, pathology department, consultation by diet and nutritionist, consultation by psychiatrist etc. are available.
A group of medical professionals including Dr. Prof. Jnanendra Man Singh Karki, Dr. Mona Priyadarshini, Medical Oncologist Dr. Sulabh Sapkota, Oncology Surgeon Dr. Shivaraj Sharma, Dr. Narendra Pandit, Pediatric Oncology Surgeon Dr. Hiramani Pathak, Head and Neck Oncology Surgeon Dr. Rahut Mahato, Nuclear Oncologist Dr. Prerana Ajryal Kafle, Clinical Oncologists Dr. Asmita Rayamajhi, Dr. Vivek Ghosh, Oncology Radiologist Dr. Manish Pathak, Dr. Bhanupratap Shah, along with other medical professionals, are providing services at the hospital.
