Fire at Bhagwati Plywood Industry in Jhapa

KATHMANDU: A fire has erupted at the Bhagwati Laminates Plywood Factory located in Mechinagar-15, Jhapa.

The fire, which started early in the morning around 5 a.m., is yet to be brought under control.

Authorities have informed that despite efforts, the fire remains uncontained, with more than a dozen fire brigades from across Jhapa district involved in the operation.

Additionally, over one thousand personnel from Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, along with local volunteers, are striving to extinguish the flames. However, the fire is still raging out of control.

Currently, the fire is concentrated in the interior sections of the factory.

Security personnel are attempting to contain the fire with the assistance of fire trucks from Damak.
