Resham Chaudhary not eligible to be the Chair of NUP, affirms continuity with Ranjita Shrestha

KATHMANDU: The commission has decided that Resham Chaudhary is unfit to be the chair of Nagarik Unmukti Party.

Sources informed that the Election Commission has decided that Chaudhary is not eligible to be the Chair.

Following the commission’s judgment, Ranjita Shrestha will continue to serve as party president.

On Thursday, the panel opted to keep the former Chair, Ranjita Shrestha.

Resham was elected president of the Nagarik Unmukti Party during a party convention held on Poush 27 (Jan 12) in Tikapur, Kailali.

The convention decided to send it to the commission to update the central committee.

The commission did not accept Resham’s nominated working committee from the convention, but instead continued with Shrestha’s.
