Ward Chair of Kirtipur-1 battling cancer passes away
Maharjan, who had been battling cancer, died on Wednesday at his residence in Kirtipur-1 Baghbhairav.
KATHMANDU: Hiralal Maharjan, the Ward Chair of Kirtipur Municipality-1, has passed away.
Maharjan, who had been battling cancer, died on Wednesday at his residence in Kirtipur-1 Baghbhairav.
Rajkumar Nakarmi, from Kirtipur Municipality, confirmed the demise of Ward Chair Maharjan. Maharjan had returned home from the hospital just the day before.
Aged 60, Maharjan was elected as the president of Kirtipur-1 representing the Nepali Congress in the local elections of 2079 BS.
With the unfortunate passing of Ward Chair Maharjan, Kirtipur’s two Ward Chairs now remain vacant.
In another tragic incident, Shyamraja Adhikari, the Ward Chair of Kirtipur Municipality-4, sustained critical injuries in a motorcycle accident on Baisakh 1 and passed away on Baisakh 1 (April 14).
