Belbari accident update: death toll rises to 4
The accident claimed the lives of Hari Khanal's wife, Deepa Khanal (44), Yadukant Bhattarai (52), and the jeep driver, Krishna Gajurel (36), all on the same day of the accident.
KATHMANDU: The death toll in an accident that occurred on the Belbari road section of Morang last Friday morning has reached four.
According to Police Inspector Tej Bahadur Dahal from the Area Police Office Belbari, 46-year-old Hari Khanal from Kamal Rural Municipality 2 of Jhapa, who was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar along the East-West Highway, succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The accident claimed the lives of Hari Khanal’s wife, Deepa Khanal (44), Yadukant Bhattarai (52), and the jeep driver, Krishna Gajurel (36), all on the same day of the accident.
Gayatri Bhattarai, also from the same area, sustained injuries in the accident and is currently receiving treatment at the Neuro Hospital.
The collision occurred when a tipper with registration number State 1-02-001 Kha 9676, traveling from west to east, collided with a bus with registration number Bagmati State 03-001 Kha 2718, approaching from the west, and subsequently hit the Bolero Jeep with registration number May 1 Ja 2856, which was following behind the bus.
