Police nabs fugitive GB Rai from Singapore

KATHMANDU: Authorities in Singapore have detained GB Rai, Chair of Gorkha Media Group and operator of Galaxy TV.

Rai, who was suspected of cooperative fraud, left Nepal to Malaysia before being tracked down in Singapore.

According to Nepal Police sources, Rai was held prior to the appointment of Rabi Lamichhane as Home Minister.

Efforts are being undertaken to extradite Rai to Nepal for prosecution.
