Rabi Lamichhane sure to become the Home Minister

KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane, the President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), is poised to assume the dual roles of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister.

As part of the power-sharing agreement within the new coalition, it has been decided that President Rabi Lamichhane will hold the positions of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister.

The RSP has resolved to join the government under the leadership of President Lamichhane within the new coalition.

In the revised power distribution, the RSP has been allocated four ministries.

According to a senior party official, the ministries of Home Affairs, Education, Labor, and Sports, along with the Deputy Prime Minister position, are part of the National Independent Party’s portfolio.

The coalition meeting held in Baluwatar concluded the finalization of the ministries.
