15-year-old girl brutally murdered in Patharishanishchare
According to DSP Ranjan Kumar Dahal, spokesperson for the Morang police, the girl was staying at her cousin's house when an unidentified assailant attacked her with a sharp weapon around 11 pm.
KATHMANDU: A 15-year-old girl, Gyanmati Thulung Rai, was fatally attacked at her residence in Lama village of Patharishanishchare Municipality-7, Morang, on Monday night, as reported by the police.
According to DSP Ranjan Kumar Dahal, spokesperson for the Morang police, the girl was staying at her cousin’s house when an unidentified assailant attacked her with a sharp weapon around 11 pm.
The attack resulted in severe injuries, including wounds to her neck.
Upon hearing her screams, her brother Binod rushed to the scene, only to find his sister gravely injured. Despite immediate assistance, she tragically succumbed to her injuries shortly after.
Described as a dedicated student in class 7 at a local Panchayat Secondary School, Gyanmati was also actively involved in assisting her uncle’s son with the operations of a local hotel.
An investigation into the incident has been initiated by the police, who are currently questioning residents of the household and the surrounding area while actively monitoring any suspicious individuals.
