Janakpurdham bus accident: 2 dies, 6 injured
A total of six individuals were injured in the incident.
KATHMANDU: Two people have died in a school bus accident in Janakpurdham.
According to Ranjan Awale, spokesperson for the District Police Office Dhanusha, the accident occurred in Bindhi, Ward No. 23 of Janakpudham Sub-Metropolitan City on Sunday.
A total of six individuals were injured in the incident.
The deceased have been identified as Rakhhi Yadav, aged 35, and Devkali Devi Sah, aged 58.
Following the accident, enraged locals staged a road blockade, prompting the police to use force to control the situation, as informed by spokesperson Awale.
To bring the situation under control, the police conducted nearly a dozen rounds of tear gas shelling and also charged batons.
The incident occurred as a bus of Angels Secondary Boarding School was transporting students towards Jaleshwor on Sunday morning.
As per the initial investigation by the police, the bus traveling at high speed collided with a group of women using the road for traditional soil digging purposes, which resulted in the collision.
Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
