Pedestrian dies in school bus hit, locals outrage

KATHMANDU: A woman died and six others were injured in a school bus crash in Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan-23, Binahi.

According to the authorities, a speeding Angels Secondary School bus struck a woman who was walking.

Rakhi Devi Yadav, 35, of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City-23, Binahi, was killed in a bus collision.

Locals are protesting the accident, claiming it was caused by the bus driver’s irresponsibility, by vandalizing the vehicle and burning tires on the spot.

According to the police, approximately half a dozen teargas rounds were fired after the residents pelted the officers with stones.
