KATHMANDU: The pre-monsoon season has commenced in Nepal, marked by early showers that have cooled temperatures across the country.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology predicts active pre-monsoon conditions in the coming days, attributing the changes to the influence of western winds and Arabian Sea moisture.
According to meteorologists, significant weather alterations have been observed in the provinces of Lumbini, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali, with gradual improvements anticipated in Sudurpaschim, Koshi, and Madhesh State.
These developments are expected to intensify overnight, particularly in the western regions.
In Kathmandu, light rainfall has been reported since the morning, a departure from the dry spell experienced from Mangsir 16 (Dec 2) to Falgun 17 (Feb 29).
Although the pre-monsoon showers have arrived earlier than usual, the lingering influence of western winds remains, as per the latest updates from meteorological authorities.
