Weather: Westerly winds & rain across the country

KATHMANDU: At present there is influence of western wind in Nepal.

The Department of Water and Meteorology has said that it is generally cloudy across the country, some places in Karnali, Lumbini and Gandaki States and a few places in Sudurpaschim States are experiencing light rain.

It has been raining sporadically since morning in some places of Kathmandu Valley.

According to the department, it will be generally cloudy in the country this afternoon.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places in the hilly areas of Koshi States including Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki, Bagmati and scattered to light rain in few places in the rest of the area.

Many high-hill and Himalayan areas in the country may see light to moderate snowfall.

Overnight, the weather will be partly to mainly cloudy throughout the country.

Light to moderate rain is possible in a few areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Sudurpaschim, and Karnali States, as well as in one or two areas throughout the remainder of the country.

The government stated that light snowfall is possible in a few sections of the country’s upper mountainous and Himalayan regions.
