KATHMANDU: Two people died on the spot while five others were injured when a tipper hit a Bolero traveling from Damak to Phidim via Tamor Corridor.

Tej Bahadur Dahal, chief police inspector of the Belbari area police office, confirmed that two individuals were killed in an accident this morning in Morang, near Belbari-3 old Department of Land Management on the East-West Highway.

According to him, a tipper (State 1 Kha 9676) heading from West to East collided with a bus traveling from East to West, as well as Bolero (May 1 Ja 2856) in the same direction.

According to Police Inspector Dahal, 52-year-old Yadukanta Bhattarai of Jhapa Kamal Rural Municipality and 44-year-old Geeta Khanal of the same location were killed on the spot while riding in a Bolero, while five others were critically injured.

The police said that the injured are being treated at Biratnagar Neuro Hospital.
