KATHMANDU: Dr. Gyanendra Giri has been reinstated as the Vice Chancellor of the BP Koirala Institute of Health and Sciences (BPKIHS) after a 13-month suspension.

Following his suspension, Dr. Giri has been cleared of charges by the Special Court, allowing him to return to his post.

The Commission for Investigation for Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had accused Dr. Giri of misconduct and corruption on Magh 9, 2079 BS, leading to legal proceedings.

While the court has yet to release the full verdict, Dr. Giri has expressed relief at the court’s decision, seeing it as a vindication of his innocence.

Now back in his position, Dr. Giri is set to resume his duties, serving the remaining 16 months of his tenure as the Vice Chancellor of BPKIHS.
