KATHMANDU: ‘Mundum International Painting Exhibition, 2080’ has been completed.

The exhibition, which began on Falgun 5 (Feb 17) at the Art Exhibiyion Hall in Kathmandu, concluded on Wednesday (today).

President Ram Chandra Paudel opened the exhibition on Falgun 5 (Feb 17), while Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal addressed the closing ceremony.

Following the exhibition, he contacted painters from other nations and informed them that his works had been exhibited by 137 painters from 51 different countries. He stated that the purpose of the art exhibition is to encourage tourism in Khotang and Diktel Rupakot Majuwagadhi Municipality. He stated that the goal is to enhance tourism in Khotang through painting while also ensuring the sustainability of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality’s economic activities.

He mentioned, “We organized a workshop for 43 local and international artists in Khotang, featuring a five-day live painting event. Diktel served as the backdrop for the artwork. During this time, we also established contact with other countries, resulting in 137 artists from 51 nations contributing their creations. The event commenced on the Falgun 5 (Feb 17) and concluded today, with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal presiding over the closing ceremony. Through art, we aspire to enhance tourism in Khotang. We have a total of 213 paintings, which we intend to develop into a museum, with Diktel at its core. These paintings depict not only scenes from across the district but also the historic pilgrimage sites of our municipality and Khotang district.”

Chief Bhattarai said that the picture will be developed as a museum in Diktel. He said that historical pilgrimage sites of Diktel Rupakot Majuwagadhi Municipality and Khotang District have been captured in the picture.
