Renowned singer and composer Bhaktaraj Acharya laid to rest at Pashupati Aryaghat

KATHMANDU: The revered senior singer and composer Bhaktaraj Acharya was laid to rest with solemn final rites at Aryaghat in Pashupati.

Before the final ceremonies, Acharya’s mortal remains were respectfully placed at the Narya Pratisthan of Music and Drama in Naxal.

A diverse array of individuals, including politicians, singers, musicians, artists, and members of the public, converged to bid their final farewells to Acharya.

A large gathering of singers, musicians, actors, and the public assembled at Aryaghat to partake in Acharya’s funeral ceremony.

Acharya, bestowed with the title of “Bhajan Shiromani,” passed away on Monday at the age of 82 while en route to Mediciti Hospital in Lalitpur.

Singer Acharya’s musical legacy continues through his two sons, Satya Raj Acharya and Swaroop Raj Acharya, who are also prominent figures in the music industry.

Acharya has provided voice and music for around 400 songs.

Acharya, a modern singer for prominent popular singer and composer of Nepali music Narayan Gopal, was born in Dhankuta in 1999 BS.

He holds a distinct place in Nepalese Sugam music.
