Udayapur people demand medical college at Katari
On the occasion, PM Dahal responded that he was positive to the demand they made, according to Mayor Shrestha.
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been submitted a memorandum, demanding establishment of a medical college at Katari Municipality.
PM Dahal was handed over the memorandum on Monday, reminding him the government’s commitment to set up a medical college in each State.
For Koshi State, they suggested Katari as best place.
An all-party delegation reached PM’s office and submitted the memorandum. Handing over the letter, Mayor of Katari Municipality, Rajesh Chandra Shrestha, said, “A study team formed by the Education Ministry has already conducted a study at Katari-3. From viewpoints of geographical location, population and proximity, Katari Municipality is appropriate place to have a medical institution.”
On the occasion, PM Dahal responded that he was positive to the demand they made, according to Mayor Shrestha.
The delegation had also submitted the attention letter to Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Ashok Kumar Rai, for the same cause.
It is learnt that the lawmakers from Sindhuli, Okhaldhunga, Khotang and Solukhumbu districts have also supported the bid.
