KATHMANDU: NC lawmaker Gagan Thapa has urged authorities to thoroughly investigate ministers and parliamentarians entangled in various controversies.

Speaking during the zero hour session of the House of Representatives, Thapa specifically called for those under scrutiny by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), implicated in government land embezzlement, ensnared in citizenship disputes, or accused of cooperative fraud, to be temporarily relieved of their positions.

Thapa stressed the importance of temporarily removing the flags of parliamentarians, symbolizing their alleged involvement in wrongdoing.

He advocated for decisive action against those under CIAA investigation, urging their temporary suspension pending the outcome of the investigations.

Thapa suggested that implicated individuals should be kept away from their duties while investigations are ongoing, and if found guilty, appropriate punishment should be administered.

“If found guilty, they should be appropriately punished,” emphasized Thapa.
