NC General Committee meeting calls for Shekhar Koirala to be made senior leader

KATHMANDU: During the Nepali Congress general committee meeting, there was a notable demand to elevate Dr. Shekhar Koirala to the position of senior leader within the party.

This proposition was put forward by Sheikh Wakil of Rautahat during discussions on various reports.

Wakil emphasized the necessity of recognizing Koirala’s leadership by granting him the senior leader status.

Additionally, he voiced concerns about the perceived lack of attention from Congress leadership towards the development of Madhesh, stating, “Leaders often make grand statements but fail to take concrete actions for the progress of Madhesh.”

The call for Koirala’s promotion came amid discussions on five different reports, with participants divided into four groups for comprehensive deliberation.
