KATHMANDU: On the occasion of the 74th National Democracy Day, various programs are being organized across the country to commemorate the proclamation of democracy in Nepal, marking the end of the 104-year-long Jahanian Rana regime on Falgun 7, 2007, according to the Bikram Sambat calendar.
While special events are scheduled at the Sainik Manch Tundikhel in Kathmandu to observe Democracy Day, journalists have been barred from entering the venue.
Despite possessing information and broadcasting press cards, journalists were refused entry, leading them to express their protest by symbolically turning off their cameras.
