KATHMANDU: The CPN-Maoist Centre has concluded the task of gathering suggestions during its inaugural legislative session.

On Thursday, feedback from seven teams was presented based on discussions regarding the draft legislation introduced by Prime Minister and Party President Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Falgun 1 (Feb 12).

Participants were organized into 20 distinct groups during the convention, which commenced on Tuesday at Pragya Pratishthan in Kamaladi. Yesterday, Wednesday, suggestions from 13 groups were submitted concerning the draft legislation.

During Thursday’s session, Kamala Naharki proposed various suggestions, including active party involvement in labor and production, initiation of a new transformation campaign, and the exclusion of Khasarya from the inclusive cluster.

Prem Bayak advised that the law’s preamble be short, and that the party be designed in such a way that it is responsive to the people. He also suggested shortening the organizational principles and adding honorary members.

Yuvaraj Dulal stated that his group’s aim is to modify the election symbol; it is preferable to maintain only democratic centralism, freedom of thought, and consistency in activity, as well as to limit terms to two.

Rajkaji Gurung mentioned that the language of the law should be excellent and suggested that the collective commitment to follow the law should be clear and there should be a provision to be elected by the party committee when electing people’s representatives.

Ramdeep Acharya has suggested that big layers should be removed for the election saying that it should be clear whether the party is to be strengthened or reconstructed.

Krishnadhwaj Khadka mentioned that the party should make arrangements in such a way that the system of alternate central members and the constitution of the central committee should not be changed and that the commission should be made effective and it should be organized by including those with subject expertise.

Suman Devkota informed that it was his group’s suggestion that the index of workers should be created and assets should be made public.
