Child goes missing in Ilam, family appeals for search

KATHMANDU: A child has gone missing in Ilam’s Rong Rural Municipality-2, Dudhe, after attending a wedding feast on Wednesday afternoon.
According to information provided by locals, the child, who went to his maternal uncle from Dharan-8 for a wedding feast, has been reported missing.
The family claims that the boy might have been abducted while returning home in the Pashupati area of Ilam, a special eastern region of the Jhapa district.
The boy’s aunt, who was supposed to bring him back, informed the boy’s mother that he was not with her during the journey, which lasted for about one and a half hours.
Despite immediate searches by family members, villagers, and police, the boy has not been found.
Search operations, including the deployment of trained dogs, were conducted. The incident, viewed with suspicion, led to the apprehension of the woman by the police for interrogation.
