General Secretary Pokharel involved in accident is in stable condition

KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, involved in a vehicular accident in Dailekh on Sunday, has undergone a health examination today at the Trauma Center in Kathmandu.

While en route to participate in a program in Surkhet from Dailekh, Pokharel’s vehicle overturned on the road, resulting in minor injuries, as informed by CPN (UML) Central Office Secretary Dr. Bishma Adhikari.

“He visited the Trauma Center today for a health check-up, and the examination revealed only minor bruises and injuries to his thigh and hand,” Adhikari stated, adding that there is no significant risk evident upon reviewing the video footage of the accident.

General Secretary Pokharel is scheduled to return from Surkhet to Kathmandu today.

The incident occurred near the inauguration of the District Assembly in Dailekh, close to Dungeshwor Rural Municipality-1.

Present in the vehicle were CPN (UML) Central Members Shankar Pokharel, Deputy Secretary Deepa Sharma, and State Committee Secretary Dhurva Shahi of Karnali State.

State Deputy Secretary Padma Khadka of Karnali State sustained injuries to her hand in the accident, as informed by CPN Central Member Bishnu Rijal.
