KATHMANDU: Gopi Krishna the oldest hall in Chabahil, the capital, is poised for permanent closure in the near future.

“Due to substantial economic losses and the ongoing downturn in the film industry since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company deems it unfeasible to continue operations any longer. Therefore, we have decided to close Gopi Krishna Cinema Hall,” announced Nirak Paudel, Managing Director of Gopi Krishna Movies Pvt. Ltd.
The venue, operational since 2052 BS, will halt operations from the first day of Falgun, which falls on Feb 13.
For decades, it has served as a cornerstone of entertainment, hosting countless screenings that have entertained and enthralled audiences from all walks of life.
As the curtains draw to a close on Gopi Krishna Hall, its legacy as a cultural icon and bastion of entertainment will forever be etched in the annals of history.
