Qatar advance to the Asian Cup final, beat Iran 3-2

KATHMANDU: Host Qatar has advanced to the Asian Cup final.

Qatar advanced to the final after defeating Iran 3-2 in the semi-final encounter on Wednesday night.

Jassem Gaber Abdulsallam, Akran Afif, and Almoez Ali each scored one goal in Qatar’s triumph.

Similarly, Sardar Azmoun and Alireza Jahanbakhsh both scored one goal for Iran. Shojae Khalizadeh of Iran received a red card in the 90th minute of this match.

Qatar, the Asian Cup’s defending winner, will now play Jordan in the final on Saturday.

Iran, a three-time victor of the Asian Cup, has also been eliminated from the event. Previously, Jordan overcame South Korea and advanced to the final.
