KATHMANDU: Nangolo Mbumba, Namibia’s former Vice President, took the oath of office and secrecy at the capital, Windhoek.

Former President Hege Geingob has formally become the country’s fourth president, having died on Sunday at the age of 82.

The swearing-in ceremony extended beyond the presidency, as Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, the former deputy prime minister and minister of International Relations and Cooperation, assumed the role of the new vice president.

Nangolo Mbumba, born on August 15, 1941, previously served as Namibia’s Second Vice President since 2018.
