KATHMANDU: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken action against Nepal’s young batter, Arjun Kumal.

He was called into action after making a mistake against Bangladesh during the ongoing U-19 World Cup in South Africa.

Arjun received one suspension point and three demerit points for making a mistake under the ICC Code of Conduct-2. His three demerit points will apply for the next 24 months.

If there are four demerit points or two suspension points in a 24-month period, two international cricket matches would be prohibited.

Nepal lost to Bangladesh by 5 wickets in the Super Six match on Wednesday.

In the sixth over, Arjun pushed Bangladesh’s Maruf Mridha into the crease while taking a run and added a run.

That is why there was an interaction between Arjun and Maruf from Bangladesh.

He pushed to the point of adding runs from his side while running. He received three demerit points at once for pushing Mridha.

Arjun Kumal apologized to the match referee after the bout. Nepal will play its final World Cup match against India on Friday.
