Cycle tour to promote tourism

KATHMANDU: Cycle tour from Nepalgunj to Thakurdwara of Bardiya is to be organised to promote tourism in Banke and Bardiya.

‘Tour De Thakurdwara’ and Nepalgunj Kids Race’ would be organised under the three-day Nepalgunj Cycle Festival from Feb 8.
All the preparations for route for cycle tour have already been made and local cyclists along with inter-province cyclists and international cyclists would participate in the cycle tour, he added.
Former Chairperson of the Club, Satish Niraula, shared, “Our main objective is to carry out activities linking cycling with our culture and tourism. This programme will help to exert pressure for safe cycling in the area and expansion of cycle lane in city.”
The main motto of the ‘Tour De Thakurdwara’ cycle tour is to protect tourism and culture in environment friendly manner.
There would be also participation of cyclists from Indian cities in the cycle tour, added the Club. The 100-kilometer tour will start from Bageshwori Temple of Nepalgunj to Thakurdwara of Bardiya National Park via different tourism sites of Banke and Bardiya districts, mentioned senior Vice-Chairperson of the Club, Surendradwip Karki.
