KATHMANDU: Currently, there is a partial effect of western wind in Nepal. At present (Friday morning), there is a partial change in the hilly areas of the country, while a few places in the plains are covered with fog.

There is a chance of light rain in the hills of Koshi and Gandaki States in the afternoon. According to the department, light snowfall is possible in a few spots in Koshi State’s high-hilly and Himalayan areas, as well as one or two sites in the rest of the country’s high hilly and Himalayan regions.
At night, there will be partly cloudy weather in the hilly sections of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali states, with the possibility of light rain in one or two places in Koshi state. According to the division, there is a chance of light snowfall tonight in one or two spots in the high hills and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali states.
There will be some improvement in the weather today and tomorrow compared to Wednesday and Thursday. However, meteorologist Govinda Jha informed that the possibility of rain and snow will increase when the new system is active in Nepal again from Sunday.
According to him, since Sunday, when the western wind will reactivate and become strong, there will be thunderstorms, rain and snow in many parts of the country. It rains when the western wind is active and strong.
