Yeti Airlines adds two new aircraft
Yeti has purchased two 72-seat airplanes from Bangladesh.
KATHMANDU: Yeti Airlines, a leading airline, has added two ATR 72-500 aircraft.
This additional aircraft landed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu around 5:20 and 5:30 p.m. today.

With the addition of aircraft, Yeti now has a total of seven ATR 72-500 aircraft. The additional aircraft were assigned Nepali registration numbers 9N-AOF and 9N-AOH.
Sudarshan Bartaula, the company’s spokesperson and head of air security, confirmed that the acquired planes were transported to Nepal by the company’s captains from Dhaka, Bangladesh.
He said that the company has taken the policy of extending the service to the destinations where the additional ships are currently flying and after completing the necessary paperwork, the flight service will be provided after 1 week.
Yeti Airlines’ CEO, Subhas Sapkota, stated that the firm has chosen a policy of bringing in more aircraft to make domestic air service more easy and accessible, and with the addition of aircraft, the company is committed to flying customers on time.
He stated that the goal is to add three more planes to reach ten by 2024, which would help to provide exceptional service to passengers while maintaining lost market share.
According to the ATR website, the ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft is the latest generation. This aircraft, with a seating capacity of 70-72, is regarded as the best with a turboprop engine. The ATR 72-500, powered by PW127 engines, is regarded the best aircraft of its size. It will produce less noise and vibration than conventional aircraft, and the interior will be more comfortable during the flight.
Yeti Airlines is a limited company that has recently brought in Asian Life Insurance as an investor. The company aims to issue an IPO for the general public within this year.
Currently, Yeti has been flying mountain flights to the convenient destinations of Nepal including Kathmandu, Chandragarhi, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Simra, Pokhara, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj and provides international air services through charter and non-scheduled flights.
