Death of former minister Paudel due to a bus collision
Poudel died at the scene.
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader and former minister Balram Paudel died in a bus collision.
Rajeshwar Khanal, Chair of Nepali Congress Chitwan, said that former minister Paudel, who was riding a motorcycle, was killed when a bus hit him at Gaindakot in Nawalpur.
Poudel died at the scene.
On Wednesday morning, a bus bearing the number Ga 1 Kha 8547 collided with a motorcycle bearing the number Na 46 Pa 7759 on the highway near Kaligandaki Chowk.
On Poush 9, 2078 (24 Dec, 2021), 66-year-old Poudel of Bharatpur Metropolitan City 17 Bijayanagar was appointed Minister of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation in Bagmati State.
He is a member of Congress’ General Committee. Paudel’s body has been kept at the Bharatpur Hospital. Police have detained both the bus and the driver who hit Paudel.
The funeral has not yet taken place as his son is away.
